Many churches, across the U.S. and beyond, have members that are not totally committed to Our Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel, which was given to us by the Holy Spirit on behalf of the apostles. False doctrines of false teachers have also crept in misled many believers. I have to talked to people who are professing believers in a span of five years I have been saved, and there are many times where I have to say, What are you talking about! That's not the gospel! Do you actually believe that! I meet new people in my life everyday that claim they are saved in Jesus Christ but no evidence of the Holy Spirit. If you ask some of these people, "What we are we saved from?" They couldn't even answer that. Its important to take a "slow cook approach" on assuming people are your brothers and sisters in Christ just because they say Jesus Christ is Lord. Examine the fruits of professing brothers and sisters and especially yourself. If there are practices that you are doing that the Holy Spirit tugs at your heart about, repent and then help others who struggle with the same areas. Excommunication practices in your church-home will manifest the truth of rather or not this/these person(s) are truly sincere. Now when it comes to false teaching, it really hits home for me because my church-home experienced some false doctrine. I will talk about that in part 2 of this post, but below are scriptures that help you understand and protect your church-home.
